Mat Pilates and Barre Pilates

Words from the creator of the Pilates Method Joseph H. Pilates:
‘To achieve the highest accomplishments within the scope of our capabilities in all walks of life, we must constantly strive to acquire strong, healthy bodies and develop our minds to the limits of our ability.’

‘The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning develops the body uniformly, corrects posture, restores vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit.’

Mat Pilates is more restorative, but with the dynamics of strengthening the overall body, especially the core and gluteus medius.

Barre in a nutshell:
Lotte Berk (1913-2003), a dancer and teacher developed with the help of an osteopath, a series of exercises that were based on her dancing experiences.

Similar to Pilates, the Lotte Berk method concentrates on specific areas of the body for strength and flexibility training. This is a high intensity, dynamic workout, you will definitely feel those legs, glutes and core tightening!

Barre Fusion:
A high intensity, low impact class combining 30 min. standing work on the Barre followed by 30 minutes mat work. Get the calorie burning benefits on the Barre followed by toning and strengthening exercises on the mat. Using Ring, chi balls, weights and resistance bands to give your workout the edge.
