Hypnosis is a state of mind that we all experience on a daily basis. Think about those ten seconds just before you nod off to sleep at night, or maybe being totally engrossed in a good book or movie, or even when you are driving in the car and you arrive at your destination but don’t remember the drive. Hypnosis is just a feeling of deep relaxation and when you are in this beautifully relaxed state it is possible to access the powerful part of the brain known as the subconscious. Hypnotherapy is literally therapy carried out whilst in a state of hypnosis. This is not a new therapy…it has been helping people deal with a vast range of problems for approximately the past 5000 years!
During a session the Hypnotherapist will tap into your subconscious mind, this is where all your decision making and deeper thoughts come from. Here your therapist will instill changes to help overcome issues of addiction, self worth, low confidence etc.
Can The Hypnotherapist Do Things That I Do Not Want?
Absolutely not! In Hypnosis you are always in control. Hypnosis is a consent situation in which 10% of the effort is the Hypnotherapist’s and the remaining 90% is the responsibility of the client. The methods used for therapy and the suggestions given, work when they are in line with your desires and intentions – that is the only way the subconscious mind will accept them.
I Have Seen Unusual Things Demonstrated On Stage (Or Tv). How Does That Work?
Hypnosis is a tool and can be used for many areas including entertainment. A stage hypnotist screens the audience and chooses the most susceptible and most imaginative individuals for the show , who willingly go along with the suggestions. And it works. The same is true for clinical hypnotherapy: willing individuals come along to change or improve aspects of their lives. And it works!
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
The number of sessions depends on three components: your state of mind, the problem that is being worked on & how well you respond to Hypnotherapy. This is not a treatment which requires you to come for many sessions however, because Hypnotherapy works rapidly. For most, the formal part of the therapy only requires from two to five sessions. Remember however, that Hypnotherapy continues to process in the subconscious mind, long after the sessions finish!
How Long Are The Sessions?
Please allow between 45mins-90mins for your initial appointment and 30-60mins on subsequent. Times may vary from person- person, depending on how fast someone falls into hypnosis and how fast your subconscious can process the information needed for your desired results.
But what if you’ve been stuck in a self destructive thought pattern for many years?
You are not alone: Many people have been amazing at their own ability to change their lives for the better. Every step forward in life begins with an idea of some kind and since your ability to generate ideas is unlimited, so too is your future.
You will be delighted with the new you as will your friends, relatives and colleagues. You will be able to relax and feel much less anxious and stressed. Take control of pain, fears and addictions. You will regain control over your life, simply by learning to harness the immense power of your own mind to reach your full potential.
